The unit is currently planning to open an Ultrasonography Unit and an Eye Care Unit. An ambulance facility is also available in order to tackle critical situations in an emergency. 

Guesthouse: There is a guesthouse situated on the campus of Vidyasagar University, where the official guests of the university stay during any seminar, conference, symposium etc. The guests are provided with beddings and the other necessary articles for use. Animal House: Vidyasagar University lets its students perform research on animals as an application part of their courses. It provides a well-maintained Central Animal House Facility (CAHF) in Charles Darwin’s House, registered under the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India since 5th January 2018. The animal house of VU has a rat room, washing room, surgical room, mice room, sterilising room with autoclave, dressing room, quarantine room, Co2 gas cylinders and an office. 

Sports Unit: Vidyasagar University Midnapore sports unit arranges various tournaments for boys and girls. Volleyball, Cricket and Football tournaments are solely organised for the boys, while both men and women can participate in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Athletic Meets and Chess tournaments arranged by the VU sports unit. Currently, four staff are present at the sports unit, including a sports officer, a sports assistant, a gymnasium instructor for men and a gymnasium instructor for women. 

Central Library: Vidyasagar University central library opens every day at  10 am and closes at 7.30 pm (5.30 pm on weekdays). It has more than 138000 books in its collection that contains textbooks, reference books, journals, etc. Besides lending books and study materials, it provides students with various other facilities like remote access to resources through e-books, e-journals, online newspapers etc. Students can download or take printouts of the question papers from earlier years. They can even access the research materials and thesis from the library. VU central library services are of two types: traditional and electronic.

Instrument Facilities: The current instrument facilities available at USIC are Fluorescence Spectrophotometer, Polarising Microscope, Gel Doc XR system PC version, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Cryo-microtome, Compound microscope, FTIR, particle size & potential zeta analyser, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer, RT PCR system, AO+ size (42 inches) wide-format colour scanner, ELISA Plate Reader, Water Quality Analyzer. The university plans to have more instruments and has given a plea to UGC based on that.

ICT Facilities: The ICT MIS is the computer centre of VU that has played a huge role in making the university campus smart. It provides a wifi connection of 1 GBPS all over the campus which can be accessed by all the students, faculties, administrative officers and other staff of the university. In addition to that, e-Enabled Classrooms, Electronic Doors, Smart Card Based Attendance systems,  Campus-wide State of the Art intelligent CCTV Surveillance systems, Exclusively Deployed Mobiles Apps of the University, IP Telephony System and MM Video Conferencing, Participation in NAD, Media Centres for e-content development, Digital Signage, Development of Learning Management System and many more are the achievements of the ICT MIS of VU that helped entirely in creating a smart campus for the university.
