UPTET 2023 official notification will be released on December 31, 2022. The Uttar Pradesh Pariksha Niyamak Pradhikari made an announcement regarding the UPTET 2023 official notification yesterday. As per the latest knowledge, candidates will be able to fill the online UPTET 2023 application form from February 1 to 20, 2023. UPTET is divided in two parts: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is meant for the candidates who want to become government teachers for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) while Paper II is for the candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools of Uttar Pradesh. UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is a state-level eligibility test conducted, once in a year, by the Uttar Pradesh Pareeksha Niyamak Pradhandhikari, to select the credible candidates who can be teachers in the upgrowing primary government education sector in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who clear UPTET shall be eligible to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) and Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools as well as the government-aided schools across Uttar Pradesh. However, UPTET does not guarantee a position as a teacher in government schools across the state, and the candidates will have to clear a recruitment exam conducted by the UP government for filling up the vacancies in government as well as the aided schools across the state.

What is UPTET?

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a qualification test to get eligible to become a teacher in the governmental as well as aided schools in Uttar Pradesh. UPTET is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Pareeksha Niyamak Pradhandhikari, once in a year, to shortlist the eligible candidates for the post of primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Junior school teachers (Classes 6 to 8) in the state.

UPTET is divided in two parts: Paper I and Paper II. The candidates who want to become government teachers for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) need to qualify Paper I while the candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools of Uttar Pradesh have to pass Paper II. After qualifying UPTET, a candidate has to appear for the recruitment test for particular governmental schools, conducted by the UP government , to finally become a teacher.

UPTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The general eligibilty criteria which should be essentially fulfilled by the candidates to appear for UPTET 2023 exam is given below. As mentioned, UPTET 2023 is being conducted in two parts i.e Paper I and Paper II. These two papers are subject to individual eligibilty conditions. Candidates can read this article completely to understand the contrast of the eligibility criteria of the two papers.

The Essential Conditions which a candidate should fulfill are:

Nationality: Applicant should be a citizen of India/Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan. Eligible candidate who reside outside of Uttar Pradesh can also apply for UPTET 2023. This means that possesing the UP Domicile is not a necessary condition to appear for UPTET 2022 exam.
Age Limit: The age limit as prescribed for UPTET 2023 is 18-35 years.
Educational qualification: Applicant must possess a UGC recognized bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed, D.Ed, BTC, etc.) with atleast 50% marks.

UPTET 2023 Application Form Details

The Application form for UPTET 2023 can be filled on the official website updeled.gov.in. No other mode of application will be accepted. So it is important to fill the apllication form in the online mode only. It is important for the candidates to fill in all the important information in the application form along with the required documents.

UPTET 2023 Online Application process will be open for about a month. Candidates are advised to understand the Application form filling process and apply for UPTET 2023 well before the last date to avoid any last minute chaos.

UPTET 2023 Admit Card

The UPTET 2023 admit card is relaeased about 10 days before the scheduled exam date. The UPTET 2023 admit card will only be released for the candidates who have successfully registered for the UPTET 2023 exam after paying the requisite fee. All such candidates can download their e-admit card by logging in to the official website, followed by entering their registration id and password. The concerned authority also mails the admit card to the registerd candidates. The admit card for UPTET 2023 Paper-I & Paper-II will be issued separately.

UPTET 2023 Exam Pattern

UPTET 2023 examination is conducted bilingually i.e. in English as well as in Hindi. Candidates must again acknowledge that UPTET 2023 is divided into two papers - Paper I (for Primary Teachers) and Paper II (for Upper Primary Teachers). The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate. There were not many tricky questions in the exam.
The Mathematics paper was of easy to moderate level. Questions were asked from simplification, days in a week, triangles, etc.
Some questions in Mathematics were repeated from last year.
The CDP paper was very easy. There were more direct questions and fewer theory questions in CDP.

UPTET 2023 Result

UPTET 2023 result will be released on the official website updeled.gov.in. UPBEB releases the UPTET result about two months after releasing the answer keys. The result for both the paper: I & II will be released on the same day. The candidates can check their result online by entering the credentials on the result page. Candidates who successfully pass the UPTET 2023 exam would be issued an eligibility certificate which would be valid for lifetime.

UPTET 2023 Cutoff

UPTET 2023 Cutoff signifies the minimum passing marks a candidate need to secure in order to be declared as pass. UPBEB releases the UPTET 2023 cutoff after the declaration of the UPTET result 2023. UPTET 2023 cutoff is identified on the basis of certain parameters like the difficulty level of the examination, total number of candidates appearing in the examination and the total number of candidates to be taken. These 3 major factors play an important role in determining the cutoff.

UPTET 2023 Answer Keys

UPBEB will release the official answer keys of UPTET 2023 around 45 days after the exam is conducted, on the official website. The candidates can check the answer keys and evaluate their raw scores on the basis of the marking scheme of UPTET 2023. The candidates will also be given the right to challenge the answer key for UPTET 2023. The window for the same will be active after a week of the answer key release date.

UPTET 2023 Selection Process

As stated earlier, UPTET 2023 is just an eligibilty test. Mere qualifying this test does not guarantee you a job. Candidate who pass UPTET 2023 examination would be issued an eligibilty certificate. They would be required to give a recruitment exam when their are vancancies open for a government scholl or a government aided school in Uttar Pradesh.

Validity of UPTET 2023 Certificate

As per the information laid down by the NCTE, the UPTET eligibility certificate is now valid for lifetime, once issued. Earlier, the validity of the UPTET certificate was 5 years. But recently, the decision to extend the validity of UPTET certificate to lifetime, was implemented.

UP government releases teacher recruitment notification based on the number of vacancies available in schools across the Uttar Pradesh. UPTET eligibility is mandatory for candidates who wish to appear for the Teacher Recruitment Exam of Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET Salary

The base UPTET salary for 2022 is Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/- supplied for primary teachers and Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- provided for upper primary teachers, in accordance with the pay band and grade up provided by the 7th Pay Commission. The sole difference in the in-hand salary between rural and urban school districts is the house-rent allowance.

what after UPTET exam?

Those candidates who have qualified UPTET exam have various kinds of opportunities which they can follow in order to get a teaching job in a government-run school in Uttar Pradesh state.
There are three recruitment processes which will take place after the UPTET exam: Super TET (UP Assistant Teacher), UP LT Grade, and UP TGT and PGT recruitment exams.
Those candidates who have qualified Level 1 and Level 2 for UPTET can go further for the Super TET(UP Assistant Teacher) post. The number of vacancies for this post will be soon released by the consulted authorities.
UP TGT PGT vacancies will be soon released by the authorities. In order to clear the test, candidates have to appear for a written test and an interview round. Those candidates who will clear both the rounds will then be recruited in UP TGT PGT vacancies.
Those candidates who have successfully passed the UPTET Level 2 paper can then further apply for UP LT grade post. In order to clear the exam, candidates have to give a written exam along with an interview round and a document verification round.
