    PUCHD Overview

    For the Panjab University MDS admission 2023, the NEET PG result 2023 has been announced by the National Board of Examination (NBE) on March 14, 2023. The NBE has released the result on its official website nbe.edu.in. Students can check the results using their application ID and password. The scorecards for the result are expected to be released soon. Students will also have to meet the Panjab University cut off for the MDS course to secure a seat. 

    Punjab University QS Ranking 2022 is within 301-350. The PUCHD admission for MBA has now been closed. Panjab University Chandigarh is also releasing the merit lists for admission to its UG, PG, and Diploma courses. Students can check the same on onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in. 

    Panjab University Chandigarh was established in 1882 as the University of Lahore. In 1947 the university relocated to Chandigarh. PUCHD is a Central and State funded university. PUCHD is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. The PUCHD campus area is of 550 acres. The university is also approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Panjab University Chandigarh NIRF 2023 ranking was 23. PUCHD courses are offered in around 850 disciplines and it has a faculty of 900 teachers. The Panjab University Chandigarh highest package was Rs 53 lakh and the average package was Rs 10.13 lakh, respectively.

    PUCHD Ranking

    The PUCHD NIRF ranking was 33 out of the 100 top universities in India in 2020. From there it rose to 26th in 2021 and 23rd in 2022 as per NIRF.  On the world scale, the university has a global score of 679 as per the calculations of NIRF as portrayed by NEWS US indicator for the excellence of the universities. 
    The PUCHD ranking in India is 7th in the state of Punjab for the best academia for both technical and non-technical studies. As per the internal quality cell of the Panjab University, Chandigarh, the university had been a top participant in at least six disciplines in the NIRF for excellence for which the university received an overall score in 2022.

    PUCHD Fees Structure and List of courses

    Considering a semester or an academic year, the PUCHD fee structure for any course is divided into a few sub-groups and they are; tuition fees, maintenance fees, utility fees, other charges and funds, examination fees, and contributions. The total value of all the sub-groups taken together is to be paid in two instalments for an academic year. For each academic year pertinent to a course and a discipline of study the value of the total fee shall differ for the respective academic year in the course. 

    There are however separate fees for the hostel, migration, registration, and lateral admission. The fee-sub-groups remain constant for all the Panjab University courses with their durations included such as bachelor, master, doctoral and special courses. However, the value of the PUCHD fee structure differs according to the courses which are divided into; Partly Self-financing courses, Traditional Courses, and Professional Courses.

    PUCHD Admission Process 2023

    The applicants can check for various admission-related announcements and specifications on the official website of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The applicants can apply for U.G., P.G., Doctoral, and various other programs at the university. The university does accept scores of different national-level entrance examinations like NEET, JEE-Mains, CETs, NET, CAT, MAT, XAT, and many more. However, except for the highest percentile score-holders, to get admission to PUCHD, an applicant must sit for the Panjab University entrance examination. The details of the examination are given below.

    Panjab University Application Process

    The PUCHD application procedure and general registration to the official website of the university start in March of every academic year. To get a general insight on the PUCHD admission procedure at the university, an applicant can check the following lists on the "Admission Homepage" of the PUCHD official website - Online admissions and entrance, Admission guidelines, Admission Notices, Schedule of Counseling, Information Handbook and Migration. For PUCHD admission, the applicant must follow the steps mentioned below:

    • The applicant can develop a thorough idea of the Panjab University eligibility criteria and mark the margin for various PUCHD courses they like to apply to the university.
    • The mode of the Panjab University application is online at the link https://admissions.PUCHDchd.ac.in/.
    • An applicant needs to log in to the Panjab University official website and register themselves with the relevant details as asked and proceed with OTP as directed by the homepage of admission.
    • The applicant must fill in relevant details as asked of them and upload the scanned documents including their mark sheets and certificates as asked. These documents include Identity Proof, UID number, Birth certificate, Marksheets from the secondary level of education till the last qualification taken, Disabled certificate if any, Affidavits if any, and Migration related documents if any. The applicant must also upload their recently taken passport-sized photograph.
    • The applicants must pay the Panjab University application fee by net banking/card/ BHIM UPI and other online wallet apps permitted by the university and wait for their turn for admission.
    • Based on the registration, the applicant must pick up the relevant combination of subjects for their desired subjects to appear for the PU-CET SCORE-CET exam.
    • The PU-CET SCORE-CET exam for U.G. and P.G. levels will be based on English and will have multiple choice type questions and will be taken offline. There will be negative markings and the candidates will be considered as per merit and cut-off marks as given below:

    PUCHD Results 2023

    The Panjab University Chandigarh result for various courses like BFA, B.Voc, B.Ed, M.Sc, M.Ed, etc. have been released on the official website. Students can view their results on the official website puchd.ac.in and view their results. Below we mention the steps to check the PUCHD Result:

    Step 4: Choose the examination type, semester, enter your application number, roll number, and other required information.

    PUCHD Cut-off

    The Cut-off marks and merit list for the PU-CET SCORE-CET exam, 2023 for admission to PU-CET SCORE is usually released around the third week of September each year. The cut-off marks for the different courses are calculated as 15% of the marks scored by the un-reserved category and 10% for the reserved category. The percentile of each stream will be evaluated and added with the scores of the previous qualifications to the PU-CET Score the rank of an applicant as per the merit list. A weightage of 25 % marks is the PU-CET Score on the higher secondary marks and 75 % for the graduation to post-graduation marks as applicable. The PUCHD releases the list of qualified and non-qualified candidates separately based on the aforesaid PUCHD cut-off marks on its official website.

    PUCHD Placements

    The Panjab University, Chandigarh never fails to inspire. Naturally, for the benefit of its PU-CET Scorepils, the university has got its Central Placement Cell that looks after the successful job placements of its candidate from training to the offer-letter stage. The cell contains distinguished academicians of the university, faculty, and alumni members that cater to PUCHD placement networking. The centralized placement event at the Panjab University, Chandigarh is named AVSAR.

    PUCHD Scholarships

    The basic target of any university is to impart higher education to its pupils that will enhance their skills to be able to participate in the market and emerge victoriously. On that note, the Panjab University Chandigarh never shies away from providing all sorts of financial assistance to its pupils. Mrs. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship – Candidates in the field of History, Economics, and Political Science between 30 to 40 years can apply for this scholarship as per the government of India.     PUCHD Campus, Facilities, and Infrastructure

    The PUCHD is one of the pioneer institutions in India that has seen the turns of time from undivided India to its present. Naturally, along with preserving the amazing heritage of the subcontinent, the university has also witnessed some noteworthy evolution in terms of academic excellence and campus. On that note, some of the most important facilities, features, and amenities that make up the infrastructure of the university sound and promising are as follows:

    • PUCHD campus-  The 550-acre PUCHD campus scores contain everything that a modern university requires. It has administrative blocks, academic buildings, laboratories, offices, a health centre, a sports complex and playground, workshops, an ATM facility, workshops, an auditorium, and halls. The university has a North Gate that also awaits the initiation of a “Technology Park”.
    • Hostel – The residential campus Scores have a separate arrangement for boys’ and girls’ accommodation inside the campus Scores. There are seventeen hostels and messes out of which eight are for boys and 9 are for girls. The mess facility is mainly for the staff. Apart from the aforesaid, the campus also has got guest-houses. All these aforesaid, to house an approximate of 8000 people. The accommodation facilities are provided with laundry, furniture, playing facilities, electricity, water, hygiene, sanitation, bathrooms, dining facilities, and internet.
    • Library – The library consists of a five-story building. It is capable of accommodating approximately 600 readers. There is an integration of wi-fi-enabled computerized systems to give online access to wonderful journals and books. There are two types of libraries, the PU Library or offline library housing around 1 lakh collection of reading materials and a UIAMS Libray consisting of a massive database of online reading materials and proper identification technology.
    • Sports facility – Apart from the spacious playground, the university has got an air-conditioned gymnasium to aid the holistic and fitness development of its student staff. The university has sufficient arrangements to hold an international standard badminton court, table tennis court, kho-kho court, basketball court, volleyball court, hockey court, kabaddi courts, table tennis court, and an arena for judo, wrestling, and weight-lifting and a swimming pool. There are arrangements for indoor games and athletic lanes, cricket ground, netball ground, shooting range, and softball grounds. Besides, there is also sufficient arrangement for housing a physiotherapy cum fitness centre overall health improvement about sports activities.
    • PANJAB University Hospital facility – There is ample facility for medical aids and general health on the university campus for the students, staff, their dependents, and guests in the form of a 24x7 health centre. This health centre contains radiology equipment, rescue equipment, computer- CET Scoreterized diagnosis system laboratories, and medicines.
    • Laboratories – The spacious digitized and wi-fi-enabled laboratories have high-end instrumentation facilities. These sophisticated instrumentation systems in the laboratories give an industrial touch-up cum small-hand exposure to enable the students and scholars to conduct valuable research work.
    • Equal opportunity Cell – To favour the PwD category, there is an Equal Opportunity Cell in the university that looks after the health, education, and placement of meritorious candidates. Not only that, the cell also promotes activities on the importance of equal opportunities for all in terms of education and job placements.
