About NMAT by GMAC 2022

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Registration for the additional phase exam is ongoing on the official website. Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has opened the additional phase registration window for candidates who did not take all three attempts for NMAT by GMAC 2022 which was conducted from October 10 to December 19, 2022, over a 70-day test window.

The last date to complete the NMAT by GMAC 2022 registration as well as scheduling for the additional phase exam is January 10, 2023. Candidates can choose an exam date between January 11 and 15, 2023. The additional phase exam will be conducted for limited seats on a first-cum-first-serve basis.

NMAT 2022 is a popular management entrance examination organized and conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The main aim of the NMAT is to provide aspiring candidates with the scope of admissions to the courses offered by leading MBA colleges in India, such as NMIMS Mumbai, VIT Vellore, SPJIMR Mumbai, XIM Bhubaneswar, and many more. NMAT is conducted once a year, over a test window of 70-100 days.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 registration process for the exam conducted between October 10 to December 19, 2022, began on August 1, 2022, and candidate could submit their application form by October 12, 2022. After completing the registration, a student can schedule an exam date of his choice within the test window. NMAT 2022 exam scheduling was extended till October 17, 2022.

A maximum of three attempts for the NMAT exam are allowed within the testing year. Students can check their performance in the exam instantly after submitting the response, and if it's not satisfactory, they can take up to two retakes. A gap of 15 days is mandatory between two attempts. Those who wish to give all three attempts must schedule their exam dates as per the following dates.

Candidates get to choose a suitable date, time, and venue to appear in the computer-based test. Candidates who clear NMAT 2022 are eligible for admission into the postgraduate management courses offered by all the NMAT Participating Colleges. NMAT by GMAC 2022 Conducting Body

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is the owner and administrator of the GMAT as well as NMAT exams. It is a global non-profit organization involved in leading graduate business schools around the world. NMAT is a national-level management entrance exam for admission to NMAT designated management colleges such as Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Ansal University, VIT University, and ICFAI Business School (IBS).

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Registration Process

The various levels of the NMAT by GMAC 2022 registration process that the candidates must understand before applying for the examination are mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Visit the NMAT online registration page ( and create an account using a valid email ID and other personal credentials.

  • Step 2: Open your email account and click on the verification link received by GMAC and sign up successfully for NMAT 2022.

  • Step 3: Enter your personal credentials, academic credentials, work experience details, choice of MBA courses of various colleges accepting NMAT scores (You can select up to five courses and B-schools), preference of test cities, and ID number i.e Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, etc.

  • Step 4: Scan and upload your photograph and digital signature as per the resolution (Max 1 MB) and the format (JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF) specified by GMAC. 

  • Step 5: Save and submit all the above-mentioned information and proceed to payment. The application fee is INR 2,300 (excluding GST). After submitting the fees, you would get your "NMAT ID". Take a printout for future reference. 

  • Step 6: GMAC will send a notification for scheduling your exam, booking your slot, and downloading your hall ticket. The same will be reflected on your NMAT dashboard.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Exam Scheduling

The admissions for NMAT are done by the clearance of GMAC. Post-completion of the registration process, the scheduling for the exam can be done. With the help of the exam scheduling option, a specific date and city need to be updated by the candidate to proceed further. Scheduling is the only process by which students will be allowed to take the exam. It can be done from the dashboard of the NMAT login.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Rescheduling and Retake

Candidates will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMAC 2022 exam a maximum of three times. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No shows are considered attempts. The retake registration option will be enabled in the dashboard after the exam date. Candidates need to register for the retake by simply clicking on the Retake section, selecting the exam mode, and paying the retake fees.

The retake can be scheduled after the completion of a scheduled attempt and the retake exam can only be taken after a gap of 15 days from the previous attempt. Candidates can book a retake only after taking the previous attempt

Retake attempts are booked on first cum first basis and subject to seat availability on the scheduled date and slot. Rescheduling of the NMAT exam is also available up to 72 hours prior to the original NMAT exam date. Also, you will be required to pay the retake fees per attempt, which is Rs 2,300.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Eligibility Criteria

It is essential for each candidate to be aware of the NMAT by GMAC 2022 eligibility criteria before paying the fees for the exam. Only those who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the NMAT 2022 Exam. The eligibility criteria for NMAT 2022 have been provided below:

Academic Qualification:

  • Students should have completed their graduation under 10+2+3 or four years of education pattern from any stream from a UGC/AICTE recognized institute or equivalent.
  • Candidates who are awaiting results or are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for NMAT 2022. 
  • Admission is granted on a provisional basis until the graduation mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying examination are submitted.

Minimum Aggregate: Candidates should have scored at least 50% in their graduation to be eligible for NMAT.

Nationality: There are no nationality criteria for NMAT

Age Limit: There is no age limit barrier for NMAT

Professional Qualification: Work Experience is not mandatory

Maximum Attempts: 3 times, i.e One examination attempt and two retakes 

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Admit Card

Students who have completed their registration process can download the NMAT by GMAC 2022 admit card once it is available on the official website. You can also book the exam slot of your choice. GMAC generally releases the NMAT Admit card 24 hours after the successful registration and completion of payment of the exam fee.

The admit card is a document that contains a candidate’s NMAT registration details and photograph. Candidates are required to carry and furnish the hard copy of their NMAT Admit Card 2022 along with their govt. ID proof at the exam center on the NMAT 2022 exam date. It is important to get the hall ticket signed by the exam administrator at the designated place.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Marking Scheme

The Graduate Management Academic Council (GMAC) evaluates the performance of candidates on the basis of the marking scheme mentioned below:

  • 3 marks are awarded for every correct objective type question.
  • In case of any wrong attempt, no marks will be deducted.
  • There is also no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Note: Once a student finished a particular section, all answers are considered final. There is no facility to go back and change the answers.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Scores

Candidates taking the NMAT by GMAC 2022 exam will receive their score card with a scaled score for the sections and total within 48 hours of giving the exam. They will be notified by email once their score card is ready for download.

Questions in the NMAT by GMAC exam are selected from the question pool for each examinee based on his or her performance on the questions previously answered. The questions a candidate receives are targeted at his or her ability level; therefore, a high-scoring candidate generally receives a more difficult sample of questions than a low-scoring candidate.

The NMAT by GMAC exam is scored by first obtaining the candidate’s final ability estimate based on the probabilistic model approach of modern exam theory, and then transformed to a scaled score ranging from 12 to 120.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Result

Candidates can check the NMAT by GMAC result 2022 on the official website by logging in using their credentials. NMAT by GMAC 2022 test-takers will be able to check their scores and download the scorecards within 48 hours or 2 days of appearing in the exam. NMAT by GMAC 2022 Official Marksheet

The official NMAT by GMAC 2022 mark sheet will comprise two scores - an individual sectional scaled score and overall score and percentile of a candidate. Calculation of the scaled score is done before calculating the final percentile. The final percentile score is calculated based on the scaled score and it is updated in the official scorecard and sent to B-schools.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Cutoff

NMAT by GMAC 2022 cutoff marks are different for every participating institute, depending on the difficulty level of the exam, the vacancies in the course, and the average performance of the students. The NMAT by GMAC 2022 cutoffs in top MBA colleges in India like NMIMS, XIMB, K J Somaiya, and VIT are significantly high in the range of 92-96 percentile.

NMAT by GMAC cutoff marks range from 150 to 200, and certain institutes will give preference to sectional cutoffs in addition to the overall NMAT by GMAC cutoff. NMIMS Bangalore requires a normalized score of 200, which is approximately 91.1%, but NMIMS Mumbai requires a score of 208 and a percentile of 94%. NMAT by GMAC final cutoff marks can be either released in the form of NMAT by GMAC score or NMAT by GMAC percentile.

NMAT by GMAC 2022 Selection Process

The NMAT by GMAC 2022 selection process will begin after the declaration of NMAT by GMAC cutoffs. GMAC is not responsible for carrying out a centralized admission process. Every participating institute has its own selection process and admission criteria.

  • NMAT by GMAC 2022 selection process will include GD-PI rounds. 

  • Candidates who clear the minimum sectional and overall cutoffs will be shortlisted to appear for the GD-PI rounds.

  • After the conduction of the PI round, the final merit list will be prepared based on various parameters: NMAT 2022 score, NMAT GD-PI scores, work experience, past academic scores, and gender diversity.

  • The participating institute may also decide to conduct a WAT (Writing Ability Test) or Case Discussion (CD) round instead of the conventional GD round. 

  • The decision of final admission is based on the combined performance in NMAT online test and GD-PI round.
