NIT Silchar Admission 2023: GATE 2023 results have been released on March 16, 2023. Students can check their results and GATE 2023 cutoff 2023 at gate.iitk.ac.in. JEE Main and session 2 will be held from April 6 to 12, 2023. 

NIT Silchar was established in 1967 as a regional engineering college in Assam. In 2002, under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007, it was upgraded to the National Institute of Technology status and was declared an Institute of National Importance. Candidates seeking NIT UG courses admission must appear for the JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) conducted by NTA. NIT Silchar admission 2023 is open now for UG courses. Admission to NIT UG courses such as B.Tech, MSc, and MBA courses is purely merit-based on All India Entrance Exams performance.

NIT Silchar Application Process 2023 

NIT Silchar application process generally starts in July with the release of the application form for the MBA programme. The selection criteria for different courses are different in the institute. The application process for the NIT Silchar is completely online. To complete the NIT application form, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Visit the official admission portal of the NIT Silchar. 
• Select the programme and fill out the registration form with the required information, including educational details, personal details, and address.
• Upload the scanned signatures and colour photographs along with the NIT application form. To avoid any difficulty in the admission process, the university advises candidates to keep all the required documents handy, such as birth certificate, category certificate, last qualifying degree certificate, etc.
• Finally, submit the application form and pay the NIT application fees via any online payment method such as net banking, credit and debit cards, BHIM UPI, Paytm, etc. Candidates must keep the fee receipt as proof for further reference. If the confirmation page is not generated after completing the fee payment, the transaction is cancelled, and the deducted amount is refunded to the candidate's account. Then candidates have to make transactions again. 
• Eligible candidates will be invited for the entrance exam (except for MBA). MBA aspirants have to enter their CAT score in the NIT application form 2023, and upon shortlisting, they will be directly called for group discussion and personal interviews. Admission is granted based on the candidate's performance in all of the selection rounds.
• JEE Mains is a computer-based test, which is mandatory to qualify to be eligible for admission. Upon qualifying for the examination, candidates are invited for viva voce by the NIT admission committee (the admission committee is different for different courses). The selection of candidates for NIT admission is based on their overall performance in the last qualifying examination, JEE marks, and Viva-voce marks.
• PhD aspirants are eligible only if they have qualified for national-level entrance examinations such as UGC/ CSIR NET (JRF), SET, GATE (with a valid score), or Teacher Research Fellowship.
