What is the IIT JAM Exam?

IIT JAM is a national-level entrance test conducted annually for granting admission in different postgraduate courses at IITs and integrated PhD courses at IISc Bangalore. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is the conducting authority of IIT JAM 2023.
IIT JAM provides admission for both Indian and Foreign nationals. It is open to anyone from any country.
There is no age restriction/ limit.
IIT JAM was conducted in 7 subjects and in Computer Based Test.

The IIT JAM question paper had three objective types of questions viz (1) Multiple Choice Questions, (2) Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and (3) Numerical Answer Type (NATs) Questions

Aspirants may appeared for ONE paper or TWO Papers

IIT JAM 2023 Answer Key

IIT JAM 2023 Answer Keys (Provisional) was released by IIT Guwahati February 24, 2023. The final answer keys of IIT JAM 2023 will be released along with the result.Candidates can raise objections and challenge if they find any discrepancy in the provisonal IIT JAM 2023 answer key within the stipulated time frame. The correction window is usually opened for 3-4 days after the release of the answer key.

IIT JAM 2023 Result

IIT JAM Result 2023 will be released on March 22, 2023 as per the official notification released by IIT Guwahati. The candidates have to check their IIT JAM 2023 result on the official website only as no scorecards will be sent offline. The candidates can download their result and scorecard from the website. The scorecard of IIT JAM 2023 contains AIR and subject-wise marks obtained.

All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned as per the marks obtained in the examination. A separate merit list is prepared by exam conducting body for GEN/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD candidates based on the candidate’s performance in IIT JAM 2023 for each test paper. The merit list is prepared depending on the number of seats that are available in each subject and the rank of the candidate.

IIT JAM Cut-off 2023

IIT JAM 2023 Cut off will be released separately for all the categories and courses. IIT JAM 2023 cut-off will depend on the choices filled by the candidates. The candidates must keep a check on IIT JAM Cut off 2022 and previous years to get an idea about the marks that they need to score to qualify the examination. The cut off for IIT JAM 2022 for the general category was 35.25 for BT, 16.39 for MS, 27.81 for CY and 26.05 for PH respectively.

IIT JAM 2023 Counselling

IIT JAM 2023 counselling process will be conducted by IIT Guwahati. The application form for IIT JAM 2023 counselling process can be filled by candidates from April 11 to April 25, 2023. Candidates can check their admission statuses by logging into the official website of IIT JAM. The final selection of the candidates is done as per the merit secured in IIT JAM 2023. There are usually four rounds of admission counselling process but the same can be increased if the seats remain vacant for any course. IIT JAM 2023 counselling process will be conducted as a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for all the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
