DTU Delhi - Cutoff, Placements, Admission Process 2023, Fee Structure

The DTU admission process for 2023 is expected to begin soon. For the B.Tech admissions, the JEE Main session 1 2023 paper 2 result has been announced on February 28, 2023. The JEE Main registrations for session 2 will go on till March 12, 2023, and the exam will be held from April 6, 2023, to April 12, 2023. For M.Tech admissions, the GATE result will be announced on March 16, 2023. Further, for admission to M.Des and B.Des at DTU Delhi, the CEED and UCEED results will be released on March 7 and 9, 2023, respectively. 

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in the streams of engineering, technology, management, design, and, science. All the courses are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. B.Tech is the flagship programme of the university and other DTU courses include M.Tech, B.Des, M.Des, MBA, etc. Admission to all the courses is based on various entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, and, CAT, to name a few. The placement offers at DTU are made in reputed firms with packages as high as Rs 1.2 crore per annum. 

The DTU full form is Delhi Technological University and it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Delhi and was established in 1941. In 1952 it was affiliated with the University of Delhi (DU). The university is also renowned for its management courses and for this purpose it has recently established its University School of Management and Entrepreneurship (USME) which is also known as the East Delhi campus of DTU. DTU Courses and Fees

• The scores of national-level examinations like JEE, CAT, GATE, UCEED, etc. are accepted at DTU for admission to its courses. The eligibility criteria for all courses vary at the university. 
• The DTU admission criteria for B.Tech are based on the scores of the JEE Main examination. This is followed by the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) which is conducted by the Government of NCT. 
• The GATE scores are considered for the M.Tech admissions which are followed by an interview round. 
• The  Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) exam is accepted for B.Des admissions.
• CAT and MAT scores are evaluated as the DTU MBA admission criteria.
•  The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) scores are considered for M.Des admissions. 
• The majority of the above-mentioned exams are currently ongoing. Aspiring students must make note of the important dates for such examinations to avoid missing out the admission chances.

The Delhi Technological University releases its own merit list or the DTU cutoff percentile on the basis of the scores of entrance examinations. Aspiring candidates must meet the minimum cutoff marks to secure a seat in the respective course. The cutoff percentile is affected by many factors including the following:

• Difficulty level of the entrance exam
• The total number of candidates appearing for the exam in the current year
• Total number of seats available 
• Previous years’ cutoff trends

The placements at the university are supervised by the Training and Placement Department. The department has a dedicated DTU placement cell which conducts various training programmes to make students ready for the final placements. Some of the activities conducted by the cell include mock interviews, group discussions, resume writing, etc. 

For the 2022 batch, 2,082 job offers were made at the university. The overall highest package offered was Rs 1.2 crore per annum and the average package was Rs 15.31 lakh per annum. 

The DTU placement companies included 300+ reputed firms like Adobe, Ernst and Young, Cvent, Airtel, Dineout, etc. Further, there was an overall increase of 7% in the highest CTC offered at the university. There was also a 21% spike in the total number of job offers made during the placements. The highest CTC offered to B.Des students was Rs 46 lakh per annum.
