A Bachelor of Business Administration course is structured in a manner that facilitates the holistic growth and development of aspirants for them to become successful managers in the future. The table below gives a detailed description of each component in the BBA curriculum.
Course Elements | BBA Course Curriculum | Course Objectives |
Core Subjects |
| A Bachelor of Business Administration degree's core disciplines are intended to teach students the foundations of management. These topics must be covered to improve a student's comprehension of the fundamental management disciplines, and their inclusion in a BBA course is essential to establish the management principles and ideas required to comprehend the more complex and specialized topics later in postgraduate studies. |
Elective Subjects (Finance) |
| In a BBA course, students have a wide selection of elective subjects that provide expertise specific to certain industries. Students can choose electives outside of their core classes to enhance their knowledge and skills in their areas of interest. Electives are extremely beneficial to students because they broaden their skill set and give them more opportunities to experiment. Skill Enhancement Courses |
| The practical knowledge and soft skills of a manager have a significant impact on their effectiveness in an organization. It is of little use to a manager if they cannot apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world issues. As a result, it is crucial for management students to grow their skills across a range of industries. Development of skills increases a manager's credibility in corporate settings. Since they are expected to oversee a variety of projects below them, managers are expected to be capable of handling almost any responsibility. Consequently, skill development is crucial throughout a management course like a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, regardless of the specialization. |
Ability Enhancement Courses |
| Ability Enhancement Courses assist students in honing and enhancing their pre-existing skills in specific disciplines that are crucial for professionals, much like Skill Enhancement Courses do. All students must take these courses, which are included at the start of a BBA course. |

As mentioned above, many BBA colleges in India offer admissions to students on the basis of their Class 12th scores and if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. But, some universities select candidates for BBA courses based on their scores in entrance exams. A counselling process is organized for students who qualify for the entrance exams and fulfill the admission eligibility criteria. Here's the detailed BBA selection process for colleges that allow admission through entrance exams.
The first step is to apply for the BBA entrance exams mentioned above. If you are targeting any particular BBA college, apply for the entrance exam it accepts and check the requirements. To appear for the entrance exams, one needs to meet the minimum eligibility criteria for each entrance exam. Most BBA entrance exams allow general category candidates with 50% aggregate marks and 45% aggregate marks for reserved category students.
Once you have appeared for the entrance exam, you need to wait for the results. All entrance exams have different ways of calculating the marks. While some consider the marks scored, some consider the percentile. So, make sure to check the rules of the exam. If you have cleared the minimum cutoff of the exam, you will be eligible to participate in the counselling rounds. Each college releases its minimum cutoff marks based on the entrance exams accepted for admissions.
Those who meet the cutoff must apply for the BBA course admission process to the college/institute. Anyone who does not meet the cutoff and still applies will not be considered for admission. One should know that scores for most of the entrance exams are valid for one year only. So, check the validity of the score before applying for admission.
Based on the entrance exam scores, candidates will be shortlisted and called for group discussions or personal interview rounds. BBA colleges offering direct admissions on a merit basis also conduct personal interview rounds.
After evaluating a student on various parameters like entrance exam scores, GD/PI performance, academic scores, and working experience, the final merit list is declared and seats are allotted based on the choice filling. The selected candidates have to pay the BBA admission course fee to freeze their seats. Simultaneously, the waiting list of candidates is also declared. If there are any vacant seats or availability, students from the waiting list will be offered admission.
