About AP EDCET 2023 (Registration Begins)

AP EDCET 2023: AP EDCET 2023 application form has been released today, March 24, 2023, on the official website (cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/EDCET). Eligible aspirants are advised to fill out and submit their applications within April 23, 2023 and avoid any late fee charges.

If they miss out on the deadline, they can still apply for AP EDCET 2023 by incurring a late fine of Rs 1000 or Rs 2000 as per the schedule of the application process. The AP EDCET exam will be conducted this year by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, on behalf of the APSCHE on May 20, 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM.

AP EDCET is conducted to grant admission to the aspirants seeking entry into the regular 2-year B.Ed course offered by the colleges of Education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Students who have completed their BA / B.ScBCAB.ComBBMBE or B.Tech can apply for the AP EDCET 2023 examination. Candidates pursuing their final year of study in the above-mentioned degree courses are also eligible to apply for the exam. 

The minimum age limit to apply for AP EDCET is 19 years and there is no maximum age bar to apply for it. The AP EDCET 2023 exam consists of 150 questions in MCQ format which the candidates have to answer within the allocated 120 minutes, i.e 2 hours. There are four sections in the examination, namely General English, General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude and Methodology. For every correct answer, students will be awarded +1 mark and there is no negative marking.

The candidates who will meet the eligibility criteria can appear for AP EDCET 2023. To be eligible for the exam, students have to meet the following requirements, nationality, academic qualification, age, etc. 

AP EDCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Following are the national eligibility measures for AP EDCET 2023 aspiring students:

  • Candidates have to be Indian Nationals.
  • Must meet Local/Non-Local status criteria as stated in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions.

AP EDCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Academic Qualification

Below we have mentioned the academic qualifications to appear for AP EDCET 2023.

  • The students while submitting the AP EDCET 2023 Application form must have cleared or appeared for their final year BA/B.Sc/BBM/B.Com/BCA examination. 
  • At the time of admission candidates have to provide their pass certificate.
  • General category students must score at least 50% marks either in their Bachelor’s degree and/or in their Master’s degree or in 5 years of a relevant integrated course. 
  • The Reserved category (SC/ST/BC/PwD) students must score a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 
  • BE/B.Tech candidates are also eligible to apply for AP EDCET 2023 provided they have studied Mathematics or Physics.

Students applying for AP EDCET 2023 must have completed 19 years of age as of July 1, 2023. The minimum age limit to apply for AP EDCET 2023 is 19 years while there is no upper age limit.

Can a candidate from other states also apply for AP EDCET 2022?

No, the AP EDCET 2022 exam is conducted only for the students who have domicile in Andhra Pradesh state and have resided in AP for at least 10 years or those students whose spouse or parents are State/Central Government employees or working in Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other quasi-public equivalent institutions within the State. 

I am a final year student awaiting my final result. Can I apply for AP EDCET 2022?

Yes, you can apply for the AP EDCET 2022 exam. However, you will have to provide your mark sheet/ certificate at the time of admission. Students from BA/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/BCA graduates can apply for the course. BE/B.Tech students can also apply provided they have studied Mathematics and Physics. 

Is there an application fee for the AP EDCET 2022 exam?

Yes, the candidates will have to pay an application fee during the submission of the application form of INR 600/- (400/- for reserved candidates) for the AP EDCET 2022 exam. The candidates who will be late in submitting the application fee have to pay INR 1000 as a late fee. 

What are the important topics from the General English section in AP EDCET 2022?

The important topics that the students have to study for the AP EDCET 2022 General English section are Reading Comprehension, Correction of Sentences, Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Complex & Compound Sentences, Voice Change, Direct and Indirect Speech. The General English section will fall under Part A of the question paper. 

I will turn 19 in October 2022. Can I appear for AP EDCET 2022?

No, you have to try for next year’s AP EDCET. Only those students who are 19 years of age as of July 1, 2022, can fill up the application form and appear for the AP EDCET 2022 examination. However, there is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination. 

What will be the qualifying marks for the AP EDCET 2022 examination?

According to the exam officials, the qualifying marks in the AP EDCET 2022 examination for General category students are 37 (i.e. 25%) out of the total marks of the examination except for SC/ST category candidates. As such there won’t be any qualifying marks for the Reserved category students for ranking. There won’t be minimum qualifying marks for women in Physical Sciences or Mathematics methodology in AP EDCET 2022.

Students who want to apply for AP EDCET 2022 have to visit the official website to fill up the application form. The students can register only through online mode. The application form must be filled with all the accurate details of the candidate and the application fee must be paid while submitting the application form. 

What are the different exam centres for conducting AP EDCET 2022?

While filling up the online application form, students have to select their exam city for the AP EDCET 2022 exam. The final allocated exam centre will be displayed on the AP EDCET 2022 admit card. What are the eligibility criteria for AP EDCET 2022?
